The Hollywood remake machine has selected Look Who’s Talking as its next candidate.

Look Who’s Talking proved to be a sizeable hit in 1989, notable for featuring Bruce Willis as the voice of a baby, alongside live action performances from John Travolta and Kirstie Alley.

Two sequels followed, most notably the canine-leaning Look Who’s Talking Now! But when neither sequel won too many people over, the series came to an end.

Yet now it’s back! Sony subsidiary Screen Gems has selected the movie for the reboot treatment, and Jeremy Garelick – who made Kevin Hart vehicle The Wedding Ringer – has been hired to write and direct the new Look Who’s Talking. It’s not clear if original director Amy Heckerling is involved.

It’s early days for the project, so don’t expect it on the screen in the immediate future. But we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
