In our weekly spot where we salute and recommend a British movie podcast, here’s why Snakebite Horrorcast is worth some of your time.
It’s a sad state of the world we live in right now that quite a few people are unfortunately losing their jobs due to the current climate. Being made redundant, however, doesn’t need to be the end of the world, and the guys over at Snakebite Horrorcast are proof of that.
Self-confessed huge film fans, and former work colleagues Mark, Niall and Marcus created Snakebite Horrorcast in April 2019 after they were all made redundant. Mark, a horror reviewer for over 15 years under the Snakebite Horror website banner wanted to introduce Niall and Marcus to the horror genre, even though admittedly neither were thrilled with the prospect; Niall especially so. Snakebite Horrorcast was created to achieve this goal.
As time has progressed, all three have becomes firm fans of horror, and this enthusiasm fills each episode with a laid back, fun ambience. As the podcast has matured, so has Mark and Marcus’ desire to introduce Niall to even more weird, eccentric and grotesque horror movies, with the aim to find out if they will choose to keep it or bin it at the end of each episode.
The Snakebite Horrorcast podcast feed also includes an offshoot show, named Bloody Good Reads, which interviews authors, and the website from which its name originated is a treasure trove of reviews, interviews and features. To add to Snakebite Horrorcast’s ever-growing list of accomplishments, they have also involved some outstanding special guest hosts, including the writers of 2018 horror movie Summer of 84, Matt Leslie and Stephen J Smith, who featured in the recommended episode below, as well as director Brandon Christensen.
