Finished with Zack Snyder’s Justice League? Turns out Snyder has a different cut of Sucker Punch locked away.

He’s just been able to release his four hour assembly of Justice League. Previously, he had an extended version of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice that also made it out into the world. And now Zack Snyder has revealed there’s a different cut of arguably his most divisive film, Sucker Punch.

I know at least one huge fan of the film, and plenty of people ‘less keen’, and in a new interview with Vanity Fair, Snyder has been explaining the movie a little more. He argues it’s a “protest movie in a lot of ways”. He explained that “it’s a movie about genre. I was asked at the time ‘why did you dress the girls like that?’ and I’d always go ‘I didn’t dress them like that, you did.’ I always saw it as an indictment of, in some ways, popular culture”.

Arguing that he still loves the film, he added that the movie was changed a lot in post-production. He explained that for the first time he face “a true radical restructuring of the film for it to be more commercial”, and confirmed “there is a director’s cut of that movie that has yet to be released”.

Twitter isn’t yet trended with the news, and a protest for it to be released. We’ll let you know if that changes.

The interview is here.
