1917: final trailer for Sam Mendes’ hugely ambitious war movie

Benedict Cumberbatch, George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman star in 1917, and the newtrailer has landed.

Director Sam Mendes is bring his new film to the big screen in the UK next January, and it goes by the name of 1917.

It’s the first movie he’s directed since his double-header of Skyfall and Spectre, and the Oscar-winning director has co-written the screenplay to this one with Krysty Wilson-Cairns.

The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Scott, George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman, and it’s a World War I story, for which the newly-released final trailer is here…

The official synopsis is out too, and it reads…

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers— Blake’s own brother among them.

The movie as a release date of January 10th 2020.
