Here are UK disc release details for Sam Mendes’ award-winning smash hit, 1917.

Fresh off the back of its extraordinary run at the UK box office, where it’s grossed over £36m and counting to become Entertainment One’s biggest every release in British, Sam Mendes’ BAFTA and Oscar-winning 1917 is now heading to home formats.

The movie has been earmarked for release on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on May 18th 2020. It’s expected that the digital release will be a week or two before that.

The official announcement hasn’t yet come out to confirm exactly what extra features we’re getting. But we already know that the planned features for at least the Blu-ray are:

  • The Weight Of The World: Sam Mendes
  • Allied Forces: Making 1917
  • The Score Of 1917
  • Feature Commentaries

Note that commentaries is in plural, and it’s expected that the release will mirror that in the US, where both director Sam Mendes and director of photography Roger Deakins have recorded commentary tracks.

Furthermore, there are two extra features we know of that are exclusive to the 4K release. They are ‘In The Trenches’ and ‘Recreating History’.

The disc is available to preorder now, and you can find more on it here.
