1990s thriller Internal Affairs is getting a remake

Internal Affairs is set to get a modern day makeover.

A gritty 1990 hit starring Richard Gere and Andy Garcia, it looks like Internal Affairs is next on the Hollywood list of remakes.

The original was directed by Mike Figgis, and it was released at a time when thrillers not only got regular cinema releases, but – shock horror – were allowed 18 certificates as well.

The new take is once again being set up at Paramount Pictures, although Figgis isn’t involved in this one. Instead, producer Todd Garner at this moment appears to be the driving force behind the project, and he’s now on the hunt for a writer to take on the project.

Once a script is in place, then expect a director and the cast to fall into place. That’s not our most stunning revelation, but we’d hate you to think we weren’t putting in a shift by acknowledging it.

More on the movie as we get it.
