Netflix and Warner Bros have both announced separate projects sure to please fans of the two Father Of The Bride remakes from the 1990s.

Typical, isn’t it? You wait a quarter of a century for fresh news regarding the popular 1990s Father Of The Bride movie remakes, then along two come projects at once.

First up is the news that Netflix have announced that a sort-of-follow-up to 1995’s Father Of The Bride Part II will be with us on Friday. What it refers to as Father Of The Bride Part III (ish) will appear on Netflix’s social media channels on Friday.

Nancy Meyers has returned to pen the new entry and Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Martin Short, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Kieran Culkin are all confirmed to return. What’s more, there’s even a brief teaser trailer to whet  your appetite for whatever it is this turns out to be.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros has announced, as reported by Collider, that a Latin-centered version of Father Of The Bride is on the way. This will be the third re-imagining of the series after the 1950s original and the 1990s remake.

Matt Lopez, scribe of Race To Witch Mountain, is writing and the story is set to follow a large Cuban-American family. No casting has been announced as yet. It’s early days yet for the project but we’ll bring you more news as we have it.
