Terrence Malick’s acclaimed new film has a brand new trailer – this one, in fact.

In recent times, director Terrence Malick has been making more experimental movies. But with A Hidden Life, he’s heading back into more conventional narrative cinema, and the resultant film is expected to be mentioned quite a lot come awards time.

He’s written and directed the movie, a World War II drama about a man who refuses to fight on the side of the Nazis. August Diehl leads the ensemble, with the movie heading into cinemas in the UK on January 17th. And here’s the brand new trailer…

And have the synopsis too…

Based on real events, A HIDDEN LIFE is the story of an unsung hero, Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife Fani and children that keeps his spirit alive.

More on the movie in due course.
