Geena Davis and Lori Petty will be playing baseball on the big screen again, courtesy of A League Of Their Own getting a re-release.

Here’s a nice surprise. Some 28 years after it was originally released, the late Penny Marshall’s hit movie A League Of Their Own is heading back into UK cinemas.

It’s being rereleased via Park Circus, which will be putting the film onto at least 25 screens around the country. The date earmarked for the release if Friday March 6th. Whether it’ll be a one-day only release we’re not yet sure.

If you’ve not had the pleasure of the movie, it’s the story of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League, that began during World War II in the States. Geena Davies and Lori Petty lead the cast, along with Madonna and Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks has a very long wee in the midst of it all. Thought you’d want to know.

Once we get more details of the rerelease, we’ll let you know.

We covered A League Of Their Own in the Film Stories website last year, incidentally. And you can dig into the story behind the film in that episode, which you can find here.
