A new Pink Panther reboot is on the way

A brand new take on The Pink Panther is heading to the screen, from the writer of Bad Boys For Life and the director of Sonic The Hedgehog.

Not for the first time, The Pink Panther series of movies are set for a remake. The original run featured Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, with Blake Edwards directing. Then, in the 2000s, Steve Martin took on the role too for a pair of movies. Oscar-winning Roberto Benigni also featured in Son Of The Pink Panther in early 1990s.

The new film is in the hands of Sonic The Hedgehog director Jeff Fowler (he’s making the sequel to the Sonic movie as well). He’s set to helm the movie, whilst Chris Bremner – co-writer of Bad Boys For Life – is on scribing duties.

There’s no word yet as to who’ll be taking on the lead role this time around. Still, the film has been set up at MGM, and apparently, it’s been looking for an approach for the movie since the start of the year.
