A Quiet Place: next film lands Pig director

The director of the acclaimed drama Pig – Michael Sarnoski – is to take on the next chapter in the A Quiet Place franchise.

Currently making a mild rumble in awards season is the Nicolas Cage-headlined drama Pig, a terrific film that very much warrants the attention it’s getting. Its director, Michael Sarnoski, has certainly caught the attention of Hollywood off the back of it, as it’s been revealed he’s set to jump aboard the A Quiet Place franchise.

The third film in that particular series had been set to be directed by Jeff Nichols, and was expected to be a side story of sorts set in the same world as the two movies to date. Now, Paramount, John Krasinski and production company Platinum Dunes have identified Sarnoski as the person to step into Nichols’ shoes.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, the leads from the previous two films, aren’t likely to return in front of the camera. The film remains on the schedule for 2023.

As for Pig, do seek it out if you can. Really good film, that.
