Mark Jenkin’s richly-acclaimed Bait is confirmed for DVD and Blu-ray release – details here.

Earning rave reviews pretty much across the board, director Mark Jenkin’s feature Bait is also doing strong business at independent cinemas around the UK. The movie is building up really quite nicely via word of mouth, and has proven to be a real success.

The only downside is that it’s been quite hard to find screenings of the film, although more independent cinemas are looking to programme the film. Still, we’ve now got confirmation that the movie will be getting a Blu-ray as well as a DVD release.

The BFI will be putting out a dual format edition of the film, with both DVD and Blu-ray in the same pack, and it’s earmarked a release date of 20th January 2020. The first pressing of the disc will come with an illustrated book in the packaging too.

Furthermore, you’re getting a fair few extras. There’s a Q&A recorded between Jenkin and Mark Kermode, as well as some of Jenkin’s earlier short films. The trailer is in there too, and we’re promised news of more extras to come.

The disc is up for preorder now, and the film continues to play at cinemas around the UK. It’s worth making the effort to find on the big screen, too.
