More casting news circulates for Ridley Scott’s upcoming project, as Adam Driver boards The Last Duel.

Ridley Scott’s new project, The Last Duel continues to pick up steam with the news that Adam Driver is in talks to star in the film alongside Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Killing Eve star, Jodie Comer.

According to Dark HorizonsDriver will be replacing Affleck in one of the lead roles as the latter now has a scheduling conflict with his upcoming thriller Deep Water. Affleck isn’t dropping out of the project entirely, but is instead taking a smaller role, as well as having penned the script with Damon. This project marks the first screenwriting combination between the pair since they won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting's screenplay in 1998.

Whilst the film hasn’t yet been fully greenlit, production is set to get underway in early 2020 and follows the story of two knights’ conflict regarding a woman in 14th century France, culminating in the titular duel. Scott of course, has an affinity for returning to past projects, and this one will see him return to the themes of honour, justice and duelling that he first explored in his feature debut, 1977’s The Duellists.
