Akira is heading to Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray this December, in a special limited edition boxset – more details right here.
Following its re-release in cinemas just a few short weeks ago, the anime classic Akira has now been confirmed for an Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray release in the UK too.
The release will mark the first 4K for Manga Entertainment UK, and it’ll come in a limited edition that features the movie on 4K disc, two standard Blu-rays and a 40 page booklet. It’s all brought together in a rigid collectors’ box too.
In terms of extra features, those have been confirmed as follows:
AKIRA sound making 201
AKIRA soundclip by Geinoh Yamashirogumi
End credits for 1998 theatrical release
Theatrical preview – Trailer collection with English subtitles
Storyboard collection.
Those will all be provided on one of the Blu-rays.
The limited edition set goes on sale from December 7th, and you can find more information – and preorder a copy – right here.
