Akira Kurosawa’s Ran is coming to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format in the UK this summer – more details right this way.

It’s been rumoured for a little while, but Akira Kurosawa’s astonishing Ran is set to be released on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format this summer.

Studiocanal has listed the film for release on July 19th, in a three-disc set. We’d assume that one of those is the 4K disc with the film on it and the extras are on a pair of Blu-rays, but that’s not been confirmed as of yet. What we do know is that that package will come with a feature-length documentary of Kurosawa, selected interviews, a look at the restoration of the film and material from the 2015 Tokyo Film Festival too.

The disc is available to order now. You can find out more and purchase yourself a copy right here.
