Alex Garland has his next two films set up at A24, including the newly announced Civil War: more on that here.

Alex Garland  and A24 seem like a good fit, with the director’s penchant for strangely offbeat science fiction meshing well with the ‘super-indie’ studio’s staunchly arthouse outlook. Garland is already in partnership with the studio, releasing his third film – Men – through A24 at some point this year. That relationship looks set to continue with the production of his fourth project, which is entitled Civil War.

Little is known about Civil War at this point, with plot details being kept firmly under wraps. However, casting details have been announced, with Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Cailee Spaeny are all set to star in Garland’s next project.

The movie is said to take place in the United States in the not-too-distant future, but at the moment, little else is known about the film. Knowing Garland’s work though, there is bound to be an unsettling streak running through his fourth official film as director.  Men is set to release, via A24, at some point this year and stars Rory Kinnear and Jessie Buckley.

Garland also directed Ex Machina and Annihilation, whilst he also helmed the brilliant limited series, Devs, which is available on the BBC’s iPlayer if you haven’t yet seen it. We’ll bring you more news on Civil War as we hear it.
