Amy Adams will lead the Annapurna-backed production Nightbitch – and we’ve got more information on the film right here.

Amy Adams’ next project has been announced and she’ll be working with the ever-imaginative Annapurna Productions to bring to life, the story of Nightbitch. The title of the project is strong and happily, the story seems equally so, following ‘an unnamed woman who finds her newfound motherhood to be quite the adjustment, plunging her to depths of mental exhaustion that causes her to believe that she is, in fact, turning into a dog. But instead of middling in a metaphorical take on her assumptions, the novel takes a literal approach to the transformation.’

It’s a novel idea, and an intriguing one. We’re soon to see the George MacKay-headlined film Wolf debut, which deals with clinical zoanthropy, where sufferers believe they are animals, although this project seems to take the idea even more literally.

Adams is no stranger to playing complex roles, so we’re looking forwards to seeing what she does with Nightbitch. Annapurna’s brand is built around artistically and creatively ambitious films that can play to mainstream audiences and that’s exactly what we hope this project blossoms into. Filming is set to start later this year and we’ll let you know more as we hear it.
