The life of Amy Winehouse will be returning to the big screen as news of a new biopic of the late music star surfaces.

A decade after her tragic death at the age of just 27, music star Amy Winehouse is now set to be the subject of a movie biopic. Her story has already been told on the big screen in Asif Kapadia’s stunning documentary Amy, but now Halcyon Studios has picked up an option to the book Saving Amy, penned bv Daphne Barak and published a year before Winehouse’s death.

The film option will involve Barak as an executive producer on the project, although it’s not clear as of yet who will direct, and who will play Winehouse on the big screen. At this stage, it’s just a case that the project is happening.

A lot more to come on this one. As we hear more, we’ll let you know.
