Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage show of Cats is to be made available for free on YouTube for 48 hours, from tonight – details right this way.

Each week since it was announced we were going into some degree of lockdown, Andrew Lloyd Webber has been making a filmed production of one of his stage musicals available via a specially-setup YouTube channel. It’s proven to be a raging success too, with shows uploaded for 48 hours, and a new production going live each week.

We suspect we’re nearing the end of the run now, but for the minute, the programme is still going. And tonight’s show will be Cats. Not the recent film, rather a filmed version of the stage show that was recorded back in 1999. This version stars Elaine Paige and Sir John Mills, and an 80 piece orchestra.

It goes live from 7pm tonight at The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel. It’ll appear below, or click through to go direct to the YouTube channel…

The show will then be live until Sunday evening at 6.59pm. Thus, if you indeed to watch it, make sure you do so by then. Oh, and panic not if you want the film version: that’s arriving on DVD and Blu-ray from June 1st in the UK. Details here.
