The Hunt For Atlantis is to be the first of Andy McDermott’s books to get the big screen treatment.

Best-selling author Andy McDermott, fans of facts, used to edit magazines for a living. Before he started penning his action adventure series of Nina Wilder and Eddie Chase books – now up to instalment 15 – he edited the UK magazines DVD Review and Hotdog. Thought you’d like to know.

Anyway: said books have been snapped up for the big screen treatment, courtesy of Divine Rights Media.

The American-based production company has hired Aaron Berg to write and produce the first movie. Mike Landry is also production, and the first novel to be adapted will be The Hunt For Atlantis.

The hope is for a long-running movie franchise, if all goes to plan. No word yet on who will direct the first film, and when to expect it. We’ll keep you posted, though.
