Anne Hathaway will star in The Idea Of You, adapted from the novel of the same name – it will be released on Amazon Prime Video.
Michael Showalter is following up his last project, directing Jessica Chastain’s Oscar winning turn in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye, with The Idea Of You.
The plot follows Sophie, a 40-year-old divorced mother. Sophie’s husband Dan left her for a younger woman, and now he’s also cancelled his Coachella trip with their 15-year-old daughter. Sophie picks up the pieces, braving the crowds and desert heat. There, she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet, August Moon.
The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee. So far, Anne Hathaway is the only confirmed cast member, and she’ll be starring as Sophie.
Showalter will direct from a screenplay by Kissing Jessica Stein writer Jennifer Westfeldt, who also produces.
