Anne Hathaway will star in an adaptation of the novel The Idea Of You, with a script penned by Jennifer Westfeldt.

Amazon Studios and Welle Entertainment are set to adapt Robinne Lee’s novel The Idea Of You. Anne Hathaway (Locked Down) is set to star in the lead role, with Jennifer Westfeldt (Friends With Kids) writing the adaptation for screen.

The novel centers around a recent divorcee who, when taking her daughter to meet her favourite boy band, makes an unlikely connection with the 20-something lead singer. Billed as a contemporary romance, the film is likely to follow the same suit, though based on both Hathaway and Westfeldt’s previous work, the film will also be filled with their signature comedic wit.

Hathaway has a number of projects currently in the works, including a Sesame Street big screen adventure and comedy drama She Came To Me. The Idea Of You marks Westfeldt’s first feature project since 2011’s Friends With Kids which also marked her directorial debut. She has however been working consistently in the TV world since then. No director is currently attached to The Idea Of You.
