Looking for a new horror film? Here’s the trailer for Antebellum, that’s now going to be debuting on premium video on demand.

Originally earmarked for cinemas in the spring, the new horror thriller Antebellum was looking to be heading to release – in the US at least – at the end of August. Thus, the following trailer was issued in May to mark that fact.

However, a new update has been posted, that confirms Lionsgate will now be skipping a theatrical release for the movie, and sending it direct to premium video on demand services instead. The planned release date for the film is September 18th 2020. Pricing has yet to be announced or confirmed.

The film stars Janelle Monáe, Marque Richardson II, Eric Lange, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, Tongayi Chirisa, Gabourey Sidibe, Rob Aramayo, Lily Cowles and Jena Malone. And it tells the story of Monae’s author, who finds herself just a little bit stuck.

The film is written and directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz.

Here’s that trailer…

Here’s the first trailer, that arrived in very different time back in early March…

Here’s the synopsis…

Successful author Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe) finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late. ANTEBELLUM is a terrifying new thriller from the producer of the acclaimed films GET OUT and US, and groundbreaking directors Gerard Bush and Christoper Renz (Bush+Renz) – an exciting new voice in filmmaking.
