Director Robert Eggers and star Anya Taylor-Joy are rekindling their creative partnership for a remake of the 1922 silent horror classic Nosferatu.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s star continues to rise meteorically, and with her upcoming starring turn in Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho to look forward to in October, her profile will no doubt continue to grow. The star of the acclaimed Netflix drama The Queen’s Gambit, will also be seen starring alongside Chris Hemsworth as she takes the lead in George Miller’s Mad Max prequel film, Furiosa. She’s also featuring in David O Russell’s as yet untitled next film, Mark Mylod’s The Menu and Scott Frank’s Laughter In The Dark.

Taylor-Joy has also wrapped shooting on The Northman alongside Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård, a viking revenge thriller directed by Robert Eggers. He also helmed 2015’s The Witch, Taylor-Joy’s breakthrough lead role. Having now worked together on both The Witch and The Viking, it’s been announced that the duo will rekindle their fruitful creative partnership once more with a remake of the 1922 silent horror classic, Nosferatu.

No further details have been supplied as of yet beyond the announcement, so we have no idea who Taylor-Joy will be playing, nor when to expect the film, but it is a project that Eggers has reportedly been developing for some years. Whatever happens, we’re certainly looking forward to hearing more details and will keep you posted as we do.
