Bait: acclaimed movie gets its free to air TV debut tonight

The hugely acclaimed Bait is on Film4 tonight, offering a chance to see one of 2019’s must-see films on free to air television.

Comfortably one of the best reviewed films of 2019 was Mark Jenkins’ superb Cornish film Bait. It won its director a BAFTA for a start, and also secured prizes at film festivals around the world. Furthermore, it was a UK box office hit too, grossing nearly half a million pounds. An astonishing amount for a small, independent release, and testament to the sheer word of mouth that kept it in cinemas for so long earlier this year.

If you’ve missed both the cinema release and the subsequent excellent BFI disc too, then tonight, the film lands on British television for the first time. The free-to-air Film4 channel debuts the movie tonight, Thursday 17th September.

It starts at 11.20pm, and hopefully it’ll pop up on the All4 service after that (where you can find a host of really good films).

Well, well worth checking out this one, chums. And if it tempts you to splash out on the disc, you can find that here.
