It’s official: Basic Instinct is heading to the 4K format, with a whole host of extra features too – details right here.

It’s been known for a while that the next movie on Studiocanal’s list for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release is Paul Verhoeven’s Basic Instinct, the controversial thriller that celebrates its 30th birthday this year.

Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone headline the movie, and as per usual with Studiocanal – that was behind last year’s Flash Gordon and Total Recall releases – it’s gone to town with the release.

It’s a three disc set we’re getting this time. Two will be Blu-rays, and one will be the 4K disc. Also in the package are a booklet, poster and artcards, and the whole package is available for order now. It’s set for release on June 14th.

Here’s the link for more information and to order a copy.
