Margot Robbie takes the lead in Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.

This looks interesting. Freed from the confines of the Suicide Squad movie, the character of Harley Quinn – as played by Margot Robbie – is now headlining Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.

It’s still an ensemble piece, that brings together a collection of comic book foes from the DC universe. But there’s a strong chance that this one’s going to have far more focus on Harley Quinn. We put that together ourselves from the title of the movie.

Also in the cast are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ewan McGregor, Rosie Perez and Jurnee Smollett-Bell. The film has been penned by Christina Hodson, with Cathy Yan directing. And here’s the new trailer…

The first trailer landed back in October, meanwhile, and it looks like this…

The synopsis reads:

After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.

The movie lands in UK cinemas on February 7th.
