Judi Dench, Isla Fisher and Dan Stevens are to headline a Blithe Spirit remake next year.

A new take on the Noel Coward comedy Blithe Spirit is heading to the big screen, with Dame Judi Dench set to lead the ensemble.

The new film will follow the along the same lines of the previous movie, with this time Edward Hall on directorial duties. It’s his feature directorial debut, although he’s helmed no shortage of TV before, including episodes of Downton Abbey and The Durrells.

Also in the cast this time are Dan Stevens and Isla Fisher.

Filming began on the movie in June, and there were seven weeks or so of filming. According to Launching Film, the movie is now set for release on May 1st 2020.  Which on the current UK release schedule pits it nicely against Marvel’s Black Widow….
