Blumhouse’s Prey: trailer lands, release details

Prey is described as what happens when Donnie Darko meets Lost – and here’s the first trailer.

As you more than likely know, the way that Blumhouse Productions works is it keeps its films low budget, it gives its filmmakers creative control, but not everything gets a wide release. On the one hand, then, you have films such as The Purge and Get Out. On the other, there are projects such as Prey.

This one is getting a digital release in the UK on October 28th, and a DVD unveiling on November 4th. It’s from director Frank Khalfoun, and we’ve got the trailer and synopsis for you right here.

Let’s do the trailer first…

Here’s the synopsis…

Described as Donnie Darko meets Lost, PREY follows Toby Burns (Logan Miller: Escape Room), a millennial coldly floating through life and disconnected from his family. After his father is tragically killed, Toby is left stricken with guilt. He is begrudgingly enrolled in a program, in which he will spend three days on a remote jungle island. Toby soon finds that this “uninhabited” island is not so lonely when he meets a mysterious girl named Madeleine (Kristine Froseth: The Society). It soon becomes clear that neither of them are safe here and time is running out. Someone or SOMETHING bloodthirsty lurks in the jungle…

And the 82 minute movie will arrive later this month, with a 15 certificate attached to it.
