Bombshell tells the real life story of an attempt to expose Fox News boss Roger Ailes – and here’s the first trailer.

Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Kate McKinnon and John Lithgow lead a powerhouse cast in the upcoming drama, Bombshell. It’s the film that follows the true story of several women working for Fox News, and their attempts to expose then-CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment.

Jay Roach has directed the film, working from a script by Charles Randolph. And the wraps are finally coming off the movie, with some rave early reviews and now the first trailer. A trailer which looks like this…

The official synopsis for the film, meanwhile, reads as follows…

Starring Academy Award® winner Charlize Theron, Academy Award® winner Nicole Kidman, Academy Award® nominee John Lithgow and Academy Award® nominee Margot Robbie, based on the real scandal, BOMBSHELL is a revealing look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time and the explosive story of the women who brought down the infamous man who created it. Directed by Emmy® Award winner Jay Roach and written by Academy Award® winner Charles Randolph.

The movie lands in US cinemas on December 20th, with the UK release following in January. More, of course, as we hear it.
