Glenrothan will see Logan Roy himself, Brian Cox, make his long-awaited movie directorial debut: more details here.

Currently enjoying one of the roles of his lifetime in the TV show Succession, Brian Cox is set to make a love letter to Scotland as his movie directorial debut.

He’s set to helm a film by the name of Glenrothan, that’s been created by David Ashton, who co-wrote the script with Jeff Murphy. The movie has been acquired by Lionsgate, that’s going to develop the project with Cox.

The film itself follows the story of a pair of estranged brothers, who come back together in the distillery town of the film’s title. Having last previously spoken at the funeral of their mother, a 40 year wait for a reunion finally ends. We suspect some sparks might just fly.

We don’t have filing dates or casting news to go with this as of yet, but as we hear more, we’ll let you know. Cox is also committed to reprising the role of Logan Roy in season four of the aforementioned Succession.
