Filmmaker Simon Cox is trying to sell 20,000 mugs, which in turn will fund his ambitious new sci-fi film, Of Infinite Worlds

The tenacity and energy of British filmmaker Simon Cox leaves us feeling just a little exhausted. After his successful decade-long battle to bring his feature debut Invasion: Planet Earth to the screen, Cox has now launched a new funding drive to help pay for his second film, Of Infinite Worlds.

He’s planning to shoot the movie in the West Midlands later this year, having spent lockdown developing the feature. And he needs £250,000 to get the film finished. His plan to raise that cash? Simply to sell mugs. No big crowdfunding campaign or anything. He figures if he can sell 20,000 mugs, then he’s got the money to make his film.

The mugs are £20 each, and there’s more detail – including a video introducing the movie – to be found here.

We’re watching this production with interest, and as we hear more, we’ll definitely be letting you know.
