Spaceman is being developed by Adam Sandler at Netflix and continues to amass a promising cast, with Carey Mulligan joining the ensemble.
Adam Sandler, following the success of Uncut Gems in 2019, is exploring his more dramatic inclinations for his next collaboration with Netflix. Spaceman. It’s based on the book by Jaroslav Kalfar titled The Spaceman Of Bohemia, continues to take shape with Carey Mulligan now added to the cast.
Mulligan, who has earned rave reviews and an Oscar nod for her role in this year’s Promising Young Woman, will play the wife of Sandler, the titular spaceman.
The film’s plot follows Sandler who ‘plays an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust. He soon finds his earthly life falling to pieces, and he turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together – a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.’
The film, which certainly sounds promising, will be helmed by Johan Renk, who directed some of the hard-hitting TV drama, Chernobyl. No production or release date has been announced as of yet, but we’ll let you know when we hear more.
