Tell That To The Winter Sea is set to explore tensions between friends and family at a wedding – the cast is now confirmed.

Tell That To The Winter Sea, which has been snapped up for UK distribution by Kaleidoscope, is an all-female film that tells the story of Jo and Scarlet, friends and former lovers who reunite at an old country house for Jo’s wedding. Tensions run high as their friends and family descend on the venue, and the script is said to explore the complexities of female friendship.

Headlining the film as Jo and Scarlet are Greta Bellamacina and Amber Anderson, respectively. Filling the roles of their friends are Tamsin Egerton, Jessica Plummer and Bebe Cave. Intriguingly, the film is also describes as having a “dance narrative”, with Josette Simon playing Kat, a dancer who has a key role in the story. Choreography will be handled by Sadie Wilking.

Jaclyn Bethany directs from a screenplay she co-wrote with Bellamacina.

Tell That To The Winter Sea is set to begin production in September on location in Kent.
