Kevin Costner’s fourth film as director is coming together, as the cast is confirmed for his upcoming Horizon.

Open Range is one of the most underrated Westerns out there. I wanted to start with that, because while it is loved by many who have seen it, it flies under the radar compared to other contemporary Westerns.

With that in mind, the director and star of that film – Kevin Costner – is taking the reigns of another Western, Horizon. It was reported earlier this year that the project was planned to be split into four films, although it now seems that the plan is for a trilogy. The plot chronicles a 15 year span of pre and post Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. Experienced through the eyes of multiple characters, the epic journey is fraught with peril and intrigue from the constant onslaught of natural elements to the interactions with Indigenous people who lived on the land and the determination and ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it.

Sienna Miller and Sam Worthington are set to star, it’s now been announced, alongside Stranger Things actor Jamie Campbell-Bower. It is currently unknown if Costner will take a part in the film.

Costner is directing the film and he also co-wrote the script with Jon Baird.

Horizon is set to begin production soon, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
