Ingram Moses lands the role of Lady Macbeth for director Joel Coen.

The pivotal role of Lady Macbeth has been cast in Joel Coen’s Shakespeare adaptation.

With shooting set to begin a just a few weeks, a crucial role has been cast in Joel Coen’s upcoming adaptation of Macbeth, the literary adaptation that will also see Denzel Washington returning to Shakespeare’s work  for the first time since 1993’s excellent Much Ado About Nothing.

Whilst Washington is set to play Macbeth, new casting news has announced that the role of Lady Macbeth, played so brilliantly in previous adaptations by actors such as Marion Cotillard and Kate Fleetwood, will be going to newcomer Ingram Moses in her first feature role.

The film also marks another debut: Joel Coen has penned the screenplay but will be working without his brother, Ethan, with whom he has shared so much success. More news as we have it.
