Chaos Walking UK release details finally confirmed

The long-awaited movie of Chaos Walking will be getting a premium video on demand release in the UK this April.

Following it’s release in the US over the weekend, the long-waited movie of Patrick Ness’ Chaos Walking is finally heading to the UK this April.

The movie, which has gone through reshoots and has seen Lionsgate reportedly invest some $100m thus far, stars Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland in the lead roles. It’s a film that’s inevitably been caught up too in the lockdowns of the last year, and with UK indoor cinemas not opening their doors until May, the studio has seemingly opted to cut its losses.

As such, it’ll be available on premium video on demand in the UK from April 2nd. Lionsgate’s last film released this way – Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar – sold for £13.99 for a digital rental, and we’d guess that similar pricing will apply to Chaos Walking. That’s not been confirmed though.

One further trailer has been released as news of the release date is announced. We’ll leave you with that, and the film’s synopsis…

And that synopsis…

In the not too distant future, Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland) discovers Viola (Daisy Ridley), a mysterious girl who crash lands on his planet, where all the women have disappeared and the men are afflicted by “the Noise” – a force that puts all their thoughts on display. In this dangerous landscape, Viola’s life is threatened – and as Todd vows to protect her, he will have to discover his own inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets.

From the director of The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow and based on the best-selling novel The Knife of Never Letting Go, Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley star with Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Kurt Sutter, and David Oyelowo in Chaos Walking.

More as we hear it.
