Christina Ricci joins the cast of The Matrix

Christina Ricci joins an already impressive cast list for the further adventures of Neo and his cyberpunk pals in The Matrix 4.

The as-yet untitled fourth Matrix film is still set to arrive with us this December, despite us not yet knowing what the movie will even be called.

What we do know though is that the cast for the film was already pretty impressive, and has been upgraded further with the addition of Christina Ricci.

It’s unlikely that Ricci has just joined the film: after all, production on the movie completed last November, reportedly with a party that made headlines for all of the wrong reasons in this socially-distanced era. Instead, it seems that Ricci’s involvement has just come to light, following an update of the film’s press kit via Warner Bros.

Ricci joins some talented colleagues, including ‘Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, and Jonathan Groff are set to join join returning stars, Keanu Reeves (Neo), Carrie Ann-Moss (Trinity), Jada Pinkett-Smith (Niobe), Daniel Bernhardt (Agent Johnson), and Lambert Wilson (The Merovingian).’

Ricci has always worn black with aplomb, ever since her days as Wednesday Addams in the 90s brace of The Addams Family films, so we suspect she’ll fit right in with Keanu Reeves and his taciturn monochromatic entourage. We’d expect to see a title announcement drop soon, maybe even with a teaser trailer, but until then, we’ll keep you informed of any more developments.
