A new British documentary celebrating the Ghostbusters heads to cinemas in December – details here.

In issue 9 of Film Stories magazine (you can’t blame us for plugging it, right?), we’ve got a sizeable feature looking at the rise of films about making films. Often made by fans, these professional films have tracked down those involved in favourite movies, and gone even further than the ‘making ofs’ that used to be the norm on DVDs.

One such film is Cleanin’ Up The Town, a documentary that’s been in the works for some time in the UK. It’s from the brother and sister team of Anthony and Claire Bueno. What’s more, it’s just been confirmed that a cinema release is incoming.

The 126 minute film is set to land in selected UK cinemas this December, ahead of the film’s VOD release on January 27th next year. The film is the result of 12 years of research and production, and it includes interviews with director Ivan Reitman and the movie’s lead cast (including the late Harold Ramis). Furthermore, never before seen behind the scenes footage is included, as well as storyboards.

What’s more, the movie is now also getting a premiere at the BFI IMAX in London. That takes place on Tuesday 3rd December. Tickets go on sale for that on November 12th, and you can keep an eye on the relevant information page here.

More details as we get them. In the meantime, it’s probably worth keeping an on the film’s Facebook page, here.
