Clint Eastwood is starring in and directing Cry Macho, which filmed at the end of 2020 – and will be with us this autumn.

As he heads towards his 91st birthday in the first half of 2021, Clint Eastwood is has already wrapped filming on his latest movie as director. The project is a story called Cry Macho, in which he’s starring as well as directing. It tells the tale of a one-time rodeo star who’s in need of a job. He thus takes a gig that involves bring a young boy home on behalf of his father, away from his alcoholic mother.

The journey between old man and young will, we’d suggest, come with life lessons.

The script has been penned for this one by N Richard Nash and Nick Schenk, based on Nash’s novel. And alongside Eastwood in the cast are Natalia Traven, Dwight Yoakam, Horacio Garcia Rojas and Fernanda Urrejola.

Warner Bros has backed the film, as it has done with the vast majority of Eastwood’s work. It’s now been confirmed too that the movie will arrive on October 22nd in the US. As every Warner Bros film is set to do this year, it’ll debut both in cinemas and on the firm’s HBO Max service in the States on that day. No word yet on the plans for a UK release.

We’ll keep you posted…
