David S Goyer is set to pen the script for the long-mooted Hellraiser reboot.

A brand new take on Clive Barker’s horror favourite Hellraiser is on the way, it’s been confirmed. Originally, Barker himself directed the screen version of his story The Hellbound Heart. Several sequels followed, although inevitably it’s the original that remains the standout.

The new version has landed at Spyglass Media Group, which has picked up the rights for a new movie. And a new movie is just what it’s intending to make. It’s hired David S Goyer (who co-wrote the likes of Man Of Steel and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight movies) to both produce the new film and to pen a screenplay for it. Keith Levine is also producing.

There’s no news of a director as of yet, though, although the plan is to get cracking on the film quickly. More news on it as we hear it.
