A deluxe set of Columbia Pictures movies arrives on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray later in the year – and here’s what’s contained within it.
One of the very best releases on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format to date is the very limited Columbia Classics Volume 1 collection that was released last year. This brought together six films from the Columbia vaults onto the format, and only now are those individual titles getting standalone releases over the coming months.
Columbia has now confirmed Volume 2 of the set, and expect it to be in as limited quantities as the first. We don’t have the UK release details as of yet, but in the US it’ll be landing on 14th September.
The six films contained within it? Anatomy Of A Murder, Oliver!, Taxi Driver, Stripes, the 1995 take on Sense And Sensibility, and The Social Network. The set will also come with an 80 page book, and a Blu-ray boasting 20 short films from the Columba Pictures archives. It promises to be quite the set.
If experience teaches us anything, expect to pay over £100 for it when it gets a UK release, and get your order in very quickly. Sadly, given the limited nature and popularity of Volume 1, scalpers are likely to be at work.
UPDATE: While we don’t have the confirmed UK pricing – although we’re hearing around £119 – we do now have its release date here. Expect it on September 13th. More details on that right here.
