It’s definite: Back To The Future will be back in cinemas this May.

As you may be aware, this very year marks the 35th birthday of the mighty Back To The Future, one of the finest motion pictures ever made. The anniversary is being marked with a few things. The launch of the Back To The Future musical, that opens in Manchester shortly. The release of the trilogy on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format for the first time.

Oh, and the small matter of a full theatrical re-release for the original film.

This was all announced last year, but what we didn’t have at that stage was a release date for said re-release. And now we have one! Back To The Future will be getting a wide UK cinema release on Friday 29th May 2020 in the UK.

At the moment, it’s just for the first film, with the second and third movies not on the schedule (although cinemas are still able to programme them, it’s just they’re not on the schedule for a wide release). And whilst we don’t have a screen count as of yet for the release, early signs are that it’ll be playing right across the UK.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
