Amy Heckerling’s Fast Times At Ridgemont High leads the May 2021 additions to The Criterion Collection.
Two more films are joining the Criterion Collection of premium Blu-ray releases in the UK this May, with both of them now up for preorder.
Amy Heckerling’s sublime Fast Times At Ridgemont High is first up. The 1982 high school movie was penned by Cameron Crowe, and gave early film roles to Jennifer Leigh, Sean Penn and Brian Backer. Extras for this one are expected to include a commentary track with Heckerling and Crowe, a fresh interview with the pair and the TV version of the movie from the 1980s.
Then there’s Jean-Luc Godard’s 1966 feature Masculin Feminin. Starring Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Duport, Michel Debord, Marlène Jobert and Jean-Pierre Léaud, this one comes with archival interviews, a feature on Godard directing the movie’s film within a film scene, and a discussion between a pair of film critics too.
Both films also get new 4K digital restorations. Both are earmarked for release in the UK from May 17th 2021.
