Crocodile Dundee: brand new trailer for Mr Dundee

The new sort-of Crocodile Dundee film, The Very Excellent Mr Dundee, has a brand new trailer – see it right here.

The mysterious new sort-of Crocodile Dundee film was all set to be released in Australia in April until, well, y’know.

You may have heard of this one. It filmed last year, with Paul Hogan returning to star, albeit it’s not a straight Crocodile Dundee 4 that we’re getting. Rather, Hogan is going to be playing, well, Paul Hogan in The Very Excellent Mr Dundee.

In the movie, we’ll find him on the verge of getting a knighthood by way of recognising all that he’s done for comedy. He thus has six weeks not to mess everything up before he receives it, and our strong guess is that he messes everything up.

John Cleese, Chevy Chase, Olivia Newton-John and Reggie VelJohnson are amongst the ensemble for the film. Dean Murphy has directed the movie, having co-written the script with Robert Mond.

The film skipped its cinema release in Australia earlier this year and instead went direct to Amazon Prime in Oz. There’s no word yet on the UK release, but in America, the film will now get a digital release on December 11th. We suspect the British release won’t be far behind.

Here’s the new American trailer for the film…

Here’s the trailer that landed in March…

And here’s the poster…

The official synopsis reads as follows…

THE VERY EXCELLENT MR. DUNDEE sees Paul Hogan playing himself and on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. “Don’t do anything to mess this up”, his manager tells him. However, despite all his best efforts, the next 6 weeks sees his name and reputation hilariously destroyed.

We’ll be letting you know as we hear more…
