Emma Stone will return for Cruella 2, which is also reuniting the core creative team behind the movie as well.
Over the past week or two, you might have caught the story that Scarlett Johansson and Disney are embroiled in a legal case over monies owed or not from Marvelโs
Black Widow. This relates to alleged lost earnings for Johansson when Disney split the release of the movie between cinemas and its Premiere Access service.
The same fate befell Disneyโs
Cruella movie, that followed a similar release pattern. But if thereโs been a similar behind the scenes dispute with the star of that one, Emma Stone, then itโs been played out fully behind closed doors.
Furthermore, Disney has inked a deal with Stone to reprise her role in a sequel to
Cruella, which for the minute weโll call
Cruella 2. We thought of that ourselves.
Itโs not just Stone thatโs back either. Tony McNamara is returning to pen the script, and Craig Gillespie will once again be directing. Whether Disney releases the film in quite the same way remains to be seen, but thatโs a question a little further ahead for the minute. For the moment: itโs happening, and Emma Stone is not suing the company either. Result.
