Cynthia Erivo will be bringing her talents to the small screen for her next project, collaborating with Netflix on the film Blink Speed.

Harriet star Cynthia Erivo is headed for Netflix for her next project, a film adaptation of Blink Speed, a science fiction drama based on the short story by Eric Brown. In the film, ‘Erivo will play a woman who is plagued by a rare and mysterious savant ability after a near-death experience. That new skill may also be the key to unlocking the truth behind her fractured memory and past.’

Little else is known about the project at this stage, and no director has yet been announced, according to Deadline.

Erivo is certainly busy at the moment, having recently worked on Pinocchio with Tom Hanks, as well as currently shooting the Luther film opposite Idris Elba, not to mention taking a turn in the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical, Wicked. Somewhere in there though, Erivo will be fitting in Blink Speed for Netflix, although with no director yet named, this one could be further down her slate.

Eric Brown, who penned the original short story, is writing the script. We’ll let you know more details regarding this one as we hear them.
