Here’s the first look at Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al Yankovic, in the biopic of the comedy music star that’s heading our way later this year.

No messing around here. It was only a month or two back that we learned of a biopic of multi-Grammy winner Weird Al Yankovic was on the way. Furthermore, that Daniel Radcliffe – currently in cinemas in The Lost City – was set to play him.

Now? Here we are with the trailer.

The movie in question is called Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and Yankovic has written the script along with Eric Appel. Appel is directing the film, which is set to debut on The Roku Channel – need to look up what that is – later this year.

There’s quite a story to unpack when it comes to Yankovic’s life, and it remains to be seen quite how sanitised a take this ‘official’ telling of his life will be. But here’s a clue: the first trailer. Introducing Mr Radcliffe as Mr Yankovic…

More on the film as we hear it. For the minute, all we know is it’s due in the autumn…
