Vue Cinemas will be screening Daniel Sloss’ stand-up show, X, in February.

We’ve had theatre performances and musical concerts beamed to cinemas around the UK in the past. Now, we’re getting a stand-up comedy show too.

Vue Cinemas ha announced that it’s going to be showing Daniel Sloss’ latest stand-up show, X, in cinemas around the UK on Friday 21st February. The show has been touring around the world, and the version that’s set for cinemas was filmed in Sydney.

In the official announcement of the screenings. Vue’s Event Cinema manager, Johnny Carr, said that “this really is a unique opportunity to watch and consume a comedy show like you never have before. Watching from in front of the big screen, with the ultimate seat and sound, viewers can really get lost in his performance and immerse themselves in his sharp insight”.

Granted, he used the word ‘consume’ and thus wins a game of buzzword bingo. But nonetheless, he’s right: this feels like something new for cinema, and we’ll be interested to see if it goes well.

Booking is open now.
