Dave Bautista will star in and produce Traphouse, a project he’s developed himself.
Signature Films and Dave Bautista are coming together for a second project, after the success of their initial collaboration. That was the action movie Final Score, that was picked up by Sky Cinema in the UK for release. Now, they’re working on a movie called Traphouse.
Bautista has developed this one himself, and it follows an undercover DEA agent and his partner who, it says here, ‘embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious, and surprising group of thieves: their own rebellious teenagers who have begun robbing from a dangerous Cartel, using their parents’ tactics and top-secret intel’.
Gary Scott Thompson, of Fast & Furious vintage, has been hired to write the script. Bautista and Jonathan Meisner will produce. There’s no word yet on who will direct the movie.
Bautista is a happy man, though. He said in a statement that “Traphouse is a project that we’ve been working on for years. We’re thrilled to be working with Marc and his team at Signature to bring it to life, and in Gary, we’ve found the perfect writer to infuse our original fast paced action movie with tons of heart”.
